Tasty Grilled Tofu
Dubu Jorim
As I say earlier, protein-rich tofu is a big favourite in Korean cooking. It takes on many flavours and is increasingly popular with plant food enthusiasts around the world.
However the bonus is that this recipe makes the tofu, with sesame seeds and chilli, a really easy treat when time is short.
INGREDIENTS
1 cube (400 g/14 oz) soft
or medium firm TOFU,
cut in half, then sliced
1.3 cm/ ½”
SAUCE:
4 tsp SOY SAUCE
1 tbsp SESAME OIL
1 ½ tsp toasted SESAME SEEDS, crushed
1 ½ tsp CHILLI FLAKES (coarse gochugaru)
2 SPRING ONION, chopped
1 GARLIC CLOVE, crushed fine
METHOD
1. Prepare the sauce. Heat a large non-stick pan. Drizzle with 1-2 spoonful of oil and sear the tofu pieces until lightly brown on both sides. Then sprinkle the sauce over and let it sizzle until reduced by half.
Serve it warm.
